Critical Role Season Four Introduces the Fighters Party

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences expanding in power within the city.

Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of characters who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.

This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.

At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.

Casimir then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the team access locations they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • Thimble and The character are known criminals.
  • The warrior and The cleric turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for the traitor.

What’s Next?

According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Questers and Schemers groups.

Audiences can expect discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
